Hey WISE Women! 💃 Our June meeting was full of energy, connection, and exciting news! We had 18 amazing members in attendance on June 10th, and the room was buzzing. If you missed it, don’t worry—we’ve got plenty of fun and impactful events coming up (check out the Upcoming Events section below 👇). A huge thank-you to Annett, our speaker this month, who shared her inspiring journey from corporate life to becoming the proud owner of Wine:30. One of her standout takeaways? “Quality over quantity.” She shared how that mindset shift has shaped her business and her life now that she gets to do things her way! 🙌 We also celebrated an awesome WISE WIN—Pam and Annett collaborated on coupons for Pam’s Airbnb gifts. This is exactly the kind of collaboration and support we want to keep encouraging in our group! Have a collaboration or referral win? 🎉 We’d love to hear about it! Share it in the Start a Network app so we can celebrate your success together! Heads up: July’s meeting will be a splashy one! 💦 Instead of our usual second Tuesday meeting, we’re having a pool party at Nicole’s! Be sure to sign up below to let us know what you’ll bring—it’s going to be a blast. And now for some huge news: WISE was awarded a $1,000 scholarship donation from Lowe’s at their Haslet grand opening—and this will be a recurring donation every six months! 🎉 Thank you to Silver for making this happen and to the members who showed up to represent our group and accept the check. Mark your calendar for our Scholarship Award Luncheon, hosted by Annett and catered by Silver - it’s happening at Wine:30 (see the event section for details)! We’re thrilled to share that we have 10 applicants for the scholarship! The selection committee will be meeting later this month—if you’d like to be part of it, connect with Nicole, who’s organizing it all. June has been full of wins and momentum, and we’re just getting started. Let’s keep cheering each other on and making big things happen—together. 💗 Warmly, Christine Moreau On behalf of the WISE Board

Social Butterfly by Diana shares the latest business spotlight on Annett McGonigle Van Grinsven, the brilliant owner behind Wine 30 on Oak St.! Annett, a veteran with a background in the corporate and hospitality world, has been a cherished part of North Texas for many years. Settling in the Justin area in 2014, she and her partner were having dinner in Roanoke one evening, and a spark ignited for what would become Wine 30. Inspired by the warmth of Fredericksburg and a passion for creating a welcoming space, Annett's dream came to life in July 2021 with the opening of Wine 30 on Oak St. Nestled in the heart of Roanoke, this charming wine bar boasts a diverse selection of wines from around the world and Texas, along with craft beers for beer enthusiasts. But Wine 30 is more than just a wine bar—it’s a place where everyone is treated like family. With inviting hospitality, delectable charcuterie boards, and mouthwatering flatbreads, it's the perfect spot to unwind with friends or host private gatherings. Annett goes above and beyond by hosting live music events, networking gatherings, and private parties, welcoming the community with open arms. And for those who can't get enough, there's even a wine club to join! If you haven't experienced the magic of Wine 30, we invite you to step inside and discover your new favorite spot. You're sure to fall in love with the inviting atmosphere, delightful offerings, and Annett's passion for creating unforgettable moments. Cheers to Wine 30—where every glass is raised in celebration of friendship, flavor, and the joy of good company! published by Social Butterfly by Diana 🦋
Why You Always Need to Apply SPF ☀️ By Christine Moreau, Beauty Guide & Skincare Educator You might think your makeup with SPF has you covered—but spoiler alert: you’d need to pile on seven times the amount to match what a proper sunscreen gives you. That’s a lot of foundation! Way more than you want or need! Here’s why SPF is non-negotiable: • Prevents premature aging – Daily UV exposure breaks down collagen and elastin, leading to wrinkles, fine lines, and sagging. • Reduces risk of skin cancer – Broad-spectrum SPF shields against UVA and UVB rays that damage DNA and raise cancer risk. • Prevents hyperpigmentation – It helps stop dark spots, melasma, and uneven skin tone from popping up. • Protects every layer of your skin – From the surface all the way down, SPF defends your skin’s entire structure. • Prevents sunburns – No one likes irritation, peeling, or that painful burn—and SPF keeps you protected. • Shields from harmful UV rays – A strong barrier that everyday skincare can’t match. Don’t rely on makeup alone to do the job. Go for a proper SPF, and I recommend Limelife’s Zero Shade SPF 30. It’s lightweight, moisturizing, and mineral-based—exactly what our skin needs. Zero Shade Face Lotion SPF 30—it’s 100% mineral (15% non-nano zinc oxide), reef-safe, and blends effortlessly into skin without that dreaded white cast or greasy finish . Shea butter, coconut oil, and bisabolol keep your skin hydrated, soothed, and glowing—not just protected . It layers beautifully under makeup, seals in your routine, and offers solid UVA + UVB protection from day one . If you ever need personalized skincare or makeup recommendations, I’m just a message away. It’s truly my pleasure to be your Beauty Guide and help you find what works best for you.
You may remember that last month in the Busy Professional Book Club we read and discussed Marketing Made Simple by Donald Miller, which focused on building a marketing strategy for your business. The ideas that came from that meeting were fantastic and it was so inspiring to sit with a group of like-minded professionals and offer each other suggestions. This month we decided to discuss a book that was more focused on personal development. That book was The Lazy Genius Way by Kendra Adachi. If you're a podcast listener, you may know Kendra from her similarly titled podcast, The Lazy Genius podcast. In her book, The Lazy Genius Way, Kendra offers 13 principles for simplifying your life, so you can be lazy in the things that are lower on your priority list and a genius about the things that are higher in priority. You’re likely thinking that 13 principles sound like way too many, but I assure you, many of them tie into one another. I won’t break them all down for you, but I will offer you two of my favorite principles that you can start to apply to your own life. The first principle I’ll share, and the one I think is probably the most helpful and easiest to apply, is to ask yourself the magic question: “What can I do now to make my life easier later?” This may mean different things to different people and can even change day by day. It may mean choosing tomorrow’s outfit before going to bed each night. Or getting out the things you’ll need to make your morning coffee. Applying this to running your business may mean creating a content calendar for social media posts, or spending time perfecting your elevator pitch so that you’ll always know what to say when talking to a prospective new client. The second principle is what Adachi calls batching. Essentially batching is just grouping similar tasks to save time and increase efficiency. In your personal life this would look like making sure all the dirty dishes are in the sink before starting to load the dishwasher or sorting all your groceries into groups that go to like places (i.e. all pantry items together, freezer items together, etc.) rather than putting away one bag at a time. In your business, this may mean batch creating social media content or scheduling a time each day to reply to emails, rather than replying immediately every time one comes in and stopping the flow of whatever else you’re working on. I hope you found these tips helpful. If you’re interested in reading the book for yourself to learn the rest of the lazy genius principles (which I highly recommend!), you can purchase a physical or e-book copy from the below Bookshop link or an audiobook copy from Libro.fm at the below link.
